Account Manager

As an Account Manager, you will manage day-to-day client relationships, motivated by work that makes a meaningful and sustained impact. You’ll support a wider team focused on transforming our clients’ businesses delivering campaigns and programs of work that add value across their brand’s ecosystem, and strive to deliver work that makes a difference and is recognised internally and externally.

Located in Sydney, as part of AKQA, you’ll work in an inclusive and innovative culture surrounded by some of the brightest minds in their fields. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow within a creative and technically advanced team, with access to ongoing personal and professional development. We work in a hybrid model, with 3 days based in the studio each week. 



  • Day-to-day liaison with client contacts on projects, responsible for keeping projects on track against timelines
  • Manage projects from writing comprehensive briefs through to managing production and delivery, ensuring projects stay on brief, on budget, and delivered on time
  • Maintaining communication internally and with clients
  • Managing project finances and competency in managing spreadsheets
  • Adhering to internal/agency processes that allow for efficiently run projects that anticipates challenges and maximises project efficiencies
  • Contributing to a collaborative team culture, peer to peer mentorship and training juniors where possible
  • As a central point of contact for clients, develop and use your understanding of clients' businesses with the aim to strengthen and expand client relationships
  • Supporting new business opportunities along with researching prospective clients and industry trends
  • Cultivating negotiation and persuasion skills



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills
  • Highly organised with attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Swift prioritisation of actions
  • Resilience and determination to achieve results
  • Professionalism and diplomacy in interactions
  • Curiosity and proactive learning
  • Minimum 3 years in account service in advertising or communications
  • Knowledge of agency functional areas (print, digital, media, etc.)
  • Firm grasp of client and job finances
