“It’s difficult to separate the development of Artificial Intelligence and algorithms from the arrival of big data.”
Technology specialist Luke Dormehl joined the AKQA team and clients in London to share the story of what it means to be human in the face of accelerating machine intelligence. Taking themes from his latest book, Luke described our 60-year quest for artificial intelligence and the incredible pursuit of one of mankind's greatest projects, the creation of Thinking Machines.
Luke discussed the rise of virtual assistants, and how big data will allow them to become more and more personalised. He also predicted what AI could mean for the future of jobs, saying that while 47% of current occupations could be taken over by machines in the next ten years, the opportunities for humans will expand at the same rate.
