AKQA’s São Paulo studio is commended as the most successful Brazilian studio at Cannes Lions 2023, winning two Gold, four Silver and four Bronze, and the prestigious Digital Craft Grand Prix for Nike’s Never Done Evolving created in partnership with AKQA’s Australia and Portland studios.
Latin American creativity has been prominent with winning work that raises awareness of the planet’s pressing issues, capturing the attention of the jury. In total, Brazil won 92 Lions, including two highly competitive Grand Prix awards, of which one was awarded to AKQA’s São Paulo studio.
AKQA’s São Paulo studio collaborated across all of AKQA’s 11 Lion-winning projects this year, demonstrating the greatness of Serena Williams with AI and machine learning, leveraging the power of accessible data for social change in Congresso em Foco’s Transparency Card and crafting the world’s first vernissage of a music album for Abebe Bikila’s Neo Icarus.
Brazil, Argentina and Mexico were this year’s most awarded Latin American countries, leaning into the region’s cultural diversity to address social issues with the art of storytelling.
