Cannes Lions appoints Hugo Veiga as Mobile Lions Jury President

AKQA’s Global Chief Creative Officer has been appointed Cannes Lions Jury Presidents for the Mobile Lions category.

Hugo Veiga is Jury President for the Mobile Lion, the category celebrates device-driven creativity. It recognises the ability of portable platforms where a hand-held or and wearables environment enriches an idea. Hugo is one of the most awarded creative leaders in Latin America, having accumulated notable industry leading awards including more than 100 Lions and three Grand Prix’s.

Hugo said: “Our smartphone is millions of times more powerful than the Apollo 11 guidance computers. So we shouldn’t award anything less than getting to the moon. I’m kidding of course, but reaching the moon is a good metaphor for the projects that are able to rise above all of the communication and experience noise on the surface of our planet. It’s an honor to represent AKQA as Jury President within the Mobile category, and help celebrate the work that’s shifting the way in which we interact with the world, and the universe around us.”

Cannes Lions is scheduled to occur from 20-24 June 2022.
