AKQA wins Specialist Agency of the Year
The Mumbrella Awards recognise AKQA with the honour of Specialist Agency of the Year.
The awards celebrate agencies who show impact and innovation across the Australia and New Zealand region. AKQA are honoured for impact and proven momentum to drive positive change for clients, communities and the planet. AKQA New Zealand and Australia were awarded for projects with Tennis Australia and HESTA, delivering strategic design and innovation to the industry, setting new standards across projects for accessibility and to financially empower women.
A world-first system for augmenting live sports with sound, designed to give the 285 million people in the world who are visually impaired the ability to follow games in real-time. By applying sound design principles to ball data, blind and low vision audiences can follow the speed and trajectory of the ball, its proximity to the line, and a player’s shot type in 3D audio.
Delivering a future planning tool to assist more than 700,000 women working in health and community services across Australia. The platform aims to empower members to improve retirement outcomes with a seamless personalised experience available to HESTA members, 24/7.
AKQA has received a total of 61 Agency of the Year awards since 1999. The 2021 UK Digital Agency Censes honoured AKQA as the most awarded digital agency published by industry title The Drum. Recently winning: Agency of the Year and People’s Choice honours from Creativepool; The One Show awards Most Creative Agency in Latin America; and Cannes Lions Global Creativity Report Latin America Agency of the Year, based on the number of winning and shortlisted entries across all of the Lions.
