AKQA wins Clio Grand and 22 trophies at the Clio Entertainment Awards

AKQA has won the Clio Grand, five Gold, 11 Silver and five Bronze Clio Entertainment Awards for projects with Free Fire, Netflix, Tennis Australia, PlayStation, Epic Games Publishing, Bethesda and Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The Clio Entertainment Awards are a celebration of creativity and imagination across film, television, live entertainment and gaming. 2022 marks AKQA’s most successful year to date at the Clio Awards.

Free Fire was Brazil’s most downloaded mobile game for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021. The iconic game feature of Free Fire was brought to life through AR for The Real Airdrop. Digital planes virtually drop gifted items for fans to capture with their phones to add to their in-game wallets. More than 1.2 million rewards were distributed in 1083 cities across the country.

A project developed in partnership with Tennis Australia and Monash University, Action Audio received a Gold and Silver within the Television and Series categories for Sound Design and Innovation.

Action Audio is essentially a new language being created to transcend sport. It enables us to augment the live radio broadcast and changes the way blind and low vision sports fans can participate in live sport entertainment.

Netflix’s Tudum Remix and The Great Untold from Netflix and Adobe received Gold in Games: Audio and Visual and Bronze in Television and Series: Partnerships, respectively.

Epic Games Publishing’s Alan Wake II received Gold in Games: Audio and Visual, and Alan Wake Remastered won Bronze in Games: Brand Identity.

PlayStation’s Horizon Forbidden West received six Silver and three Bronze within the Games categories across Integrated Campaign, Audio Visual, Out of Home, Packaging and Key Art Craft.

Bethesda’s Into the Starfield - Prologue: The Journey Begins received Silver within Games: Original Content.

PlayStation’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart received Bronze in Games: Key Art.
