Ascend, a leading independent clinical testing company, opened a state-of-the-art facility in Silicon Valley, allowing for a drastic increase in the output and range of testing they could offer. As sleek and advanced as the Ascend facility is, the company’s website did not match. Ascend required a redesign to reflect the facility, serving to expand the customer base and recruit talent.


Embracing the opportunity to evolve Ascend’s story.

Central to the website redesign was the need to highlight the dynamics of the lab itself, constantly in motion, growing and responding to the fast-paced, changing world around it. Produced by AKQA, an on–site shoot captured the lab in action, with still and video assets that are brought to life in vivid colour.

The accessible and informative copy articulates Ascend’s innovative technologies and clinical responsiveness, which benefit customers and patients alike. Illustrations of Ascend’s rich history of innovation support the promise of value.

The Careers pages allow new talent to envision themselves working in the lab environment. Key benefits of working at Ascend — culture, diversity, structure, benefits, retirement and security — are given prominence.

To offer flexibility and support future needs, a comprehensive, component-based design system allows the Ascend team to extend content on the site as their business offerings and client base continue to grow.
