Senior QA Engineer - Freelance

As a Sr. QA Engineer, you will ensure that projects are delivered to the highest quality from multiple teams. Your main responsibility is to work with project managers, creative leads, and other members of the development team to create and execute test strategies, negotiate test schedules, improve overall QA processes, and coordinate project outputs. You will also leverage a variety of technologies and be a champion of best practice QA thinking within the team.
Please note: This is a 1-month freelance contract role. No visa transfers or visa sponsorships will be offered at this time. Candidates for this role must be able to work West Coast hours.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Able to perform routine functional regression testing across +12 spoken languages/locales with minimal oversight - will have ramp up on existing test cases. No need for understanding spoken languages outside of English
- Previous experience testing web platforms preferred - should have moderate understanding of modern responsive web design and browser developer tools
- Familiarity with Proxy/API testing - preferred proficiency with either local mapping in Charles Proxy (or similar proxy tools), or experience performing browser-based overrides
- Responsible for adding to, editing, and managing existing test suites and documentation - able to adapt and compose test cases in Gherikin/BDT format
QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Understanding of modern accessibility guidelines - general understanding of WCAG 2.2 and underlying concepts is a plus
- Automated test experience not required, but may be a consideration if role continues for a longer duration (Familiarization with: Javascript/Typescript, Playwright, Cypress)
- 5 Years minimum experience in QA roles or similar roles
The pay range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
$60 - $75 per hour (depending on experience)
Candidates for this role must be able to work West Coast hours (PST)
