Pink Chip wins Gold in Glass: The Lion for Change
AKQA has been awarded three Gold and two Silver Lions for UN Women NL and DEGIRO’s Pink Chip at The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
AKQA has received its first prestigious Glass: The Lion for Change for Pink Chip, celebrating culture-shifting creativity. The Glass Lion recognises work that demonstrates ideas intended to change the world and addresses issues of inequality through the conscious representation of gender. The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity represents creative excellence in every sector and specialism of the industry.
Reinforcing the importance of the work, Pink Chip has also received a Gold Lion for Sustainable Development Goals, honouring solutions that contribute to achieving gender equality.
Pink Chip is the world’s first index that tracks the financial performance of women-led companies and aims to reverse the market bias against female leadership. The index highlights that firms led by women have outperformed the market average, signifying the aptitude of female CEOs and the results of their leadership in driving business performance.
On International Women’s Day Pink Chip joined UN Women NL at the opening of the stock market at Euronext and went live on Europe’s largest investing platform DEGIRO. Within two weeks of its launch there were over 14,500 new investors in Pink Chip companies which saw a 6.7% increase in their stock price. The index has since climbed a further 9.48% and outperformed market benchmarks.
Pink Chip receives a third Gold Lion for Data and Analytics in the Creative Strategy Lions category. The award celebrates the idea behind the idea and recognises strategy inspired by insightful analysis and interpretation of data, revealing business opportunities.
A Silver Lion for Innovation in the Fintech category has been awarded to the work, honouring ground-breaking technology and problem-solving ideas that demonstrate opportunities that aim to reshape the financial landscape. Pink Chip also received a second Silver Lion for Use of Digital Platforms in the Direct category, recognising response-driven creativity that uses online platforms to enhance relationships with a specific audience.
