“You don’t have to choose between purpose and profit. You can do both. Purpose is the competitive advantage.”
AKQA team and clients in London were treated to an inspiring Q&A with authors of new book WEconomy: You can find meaning, make a living, and change the world. Dr Holly Branson of Virgin Group’s Leadership team, New York Times bestselling author Craig Kielburger, and globally renowned columnist Marc Kielburger shared insights from the book, which is a hands-on playbook on how to do business with purpose.
Reflecting on their individual backgrounds in for-profit, social enterprise and charity organisations, the panel discussed how purpose is the unifying factor that melds these traditional business models together, as organisations begin to understand how purpose and profit intersect. Using examples from their research, the panel explored how shifting purpose from the periphery to the core of business results in change that is not only meaningful, but also profitable. Concluding with some practical advice, the authors shared tactics for applying purpose in business to differentiate brands, win customers and boost productivity - all while driving positive change.
